Skiing in Montriond

Montriond gives the best access to The Portes Du Soleil ski domain, being right in the middle of the ski domain. Accessed by the new fast Ardent bubble lift to the Lindarets (1400 metres) 8 minute drive from the chalets (also with ski bus access from the village centre) .From the Lindarets plateau you gain access to Avoriaz, Chatel Valley and Les Crozets in Switzerland. One of the main pulls of the Lindarets is The Stash designed by the Burton Brothers, it is the worlds first eco snow park, giving entertainment for all abilities and disciplines. This facility now has been increased to offer a jump park. Montriond has 6 chair lifts, 1 drag and 1 bubble and a selection of runs for all abilities, it's strength however is its position in the middle of the Portes Du Soleil giving a wide choice of skiing from 1 starting point.

MORZINE

Renowned for its traditional and lively feel, Morzine offers a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. Here's our recommendations:

  • LEtale in the heart of the town, this large busy restaurant has a heated patio area, live bands some nights, a great atmosphere and a large menu and good value
  • La Chaudanne recently refurbished and now has a lovely wine bar
  • Le Coup de Coeur wine bar in the centre, great aprs ski venue for people who loves their wines, heated terrace with lovely sheepskins to keep you warm...... small snack menu of pizzas and platters if one bottle leads to another and you dont want to move

Other facilities in Morzine includes a new indoor swimming pool being launched at Christmas 2011 offering a main pool 25 x 15m, a smaller pool, a paddling pool, a spa area with 3 saunas and 2 hammans. This superb new facility will be great for non skiers and young children. Situated next to the indoor ice rink with lift access from the centre of town. Horse drawn carts, night sledging and the weekly torchlit descents by the ESF are just some other attractions on offer.

Morzine is linked with Les Gets and these two Ski domains are easily accessed from our chalets offering a more cost effective pass and 250KM of pistes, ideal for beginners or groups with a mix of abilities. Morzine / Les Gets forms part of the Portes Du Soleil circuit.
